We are your virtual resource to equip you to become a great home cook. We are a collective of chefs, bakers, pastry makers & sommeliers who teach guided, live video classes.
What is a guided, live video class?
Simply, it's a video call. We video call you at your reserved class time and we coach you through all of the cooking & baking steps of the recipe you chose to learn. We do not do any cooking or demos, instead we're focused on you - we will help you to improve your knife technique, help you to choose the best equipment from your kitchen to use, tell you why you're doing what you're doing, inform you why you're using what ingredients you're using, help to troubleshoot if cooking adjustments need to be made, share with you how you can use the same techniques and cooking tricks you have learned & how to apply them for other recipes, share with you some kitchen hacks & tricks we have learned over the years in restaurant kitchens & so much more. We are your kitchen crutch. We guarantee you will have a perfectly completed dish at the end of every class and you will walk away as a more confident home cook.
We do the coaching while
you do the cooking
To get started..
BOOK A class
Choose from Technique Classes that teach you kitchen essentials, like knife skills or how to make fresh pasta.
Or take a Cooking Class to make that something you have always wanted to but been too intimidated. Our personal favorite class, veal scallopini with saffron risotto.
What Can I expect from class?
At your scheduled class time, your chef will video call you via FaceTime, Skype or Google Hangout. Chef will instruct you to pull out all of the ingredients and equipment you'll need for class. Step-by-step, chef will walk you through cutting and chopping, measuring, cooking, baking your ingredients. You'll learn how to properly use your knife, cook and assemble your dish with efficiency and accuracy & some pro tricks along the way.
Wine Tasting and Liquor Classes are a perfect start to any weekend, learn a little history of Italian wines or how to make cocktails for your Sunday brunch party. Your sommelier will guide you through a tasting, sharing history of the wines you purchased for class, teach you how to taste and how to perfectly pair what you're drinking with food, just to name a few highlights.
Our Kids classes are great for children of any age, 5 and above (of course, with adult supervision).
get ready for class
A few days before class, we'll remind you to go to the market to pick up the ingredients you will need. We always suggest to shop at local, small business farms and markets if you can for your produce, protein and dairy. Online shopping is great for pantry items.
All classes are video appointments on FaceTime, Skype or Google Hangout. When you purchase and book your class, let us know your preferred video chat app and app contact info (maybe FaceTime phone number, Skype email, Google Hangout Email). Before your class be sure you have a solid network connection to make sure you're ready for your one-on-one with chef. Make sure the lighting in your kitchen is bright enough, chef will want to see you and your cooking surfaces.
Gather all of the tools and ingredients you will need, just before your class time.
Chef will start class with an introduction on the recipe and ingredients. Chef will guide you through the entire cooking process until your dish has been plated. This is your time to ask chef questions, chef is there for you to learn.
After class, we will send you a link to review your class & tip your chef.
Check the class library frequently, we partner with chefs to add new classes all of the time.
