Sommelier Clare found her love of food, wine and spirits at an early age. Having worked in restaurants since the age of 16, she attended The Culinary Institute of America where her passion only intensified. While still in school, she had her first cocktail recipe published. After graduating with honors, she worked for the Four Seasons in both Palm Beach, Florida and Baltimore, Maryland. Clare then ran the beverage program as the Lead Sommelier at the Sagamore Pendry Baltimore, rated one of the best hotels in the US.
Having become a Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers has just been a step in Clare’s beverage journey. She has passed part of her Advanced Sommelier examination and hopes to become an Advanced Sommelier soon. She was recently given a Young Leader in Wine Award by SommCon and has won multiple cocktail competitions. In addition, she is dedicated to giving back to the hospitality industry as the Treasurer for the Baltimore Bartender’s Guild and a member on the Board of Directors for the Baltimore Restaurant Relief Fund.
When not expanding her beverage knowledge, Clare likes to play with her rescue pup, Buster and play a round or two of golf. She loves making her Chef husband try all sorts of wine and cocktails and occasionally even makes him dinner to go with them.
