What to Cook This Month: June 2022

Summer is here! Farmer's markets are open and the days are long. There is so much to look forward to in June - Father's Day, LGBTQ+ Pride and the official start of summer. Here are some recipes I'll be giving a go this month and highly recommend you do too!

LGBTQ+ Pride Month: Rainbow Cake

This is a show-stopping cake to help you celebrate Pride Month! Learn how to masterfully frost this rainbow dessert with the help of a Pro Pastry Chef on Zoom with you - so much better than trying (and failing) after watching a YouTube tutorial.

LGBTQ+ Pride Month: Rainbow Macarons

This French cookies are perfect for a large gathering of friends celebrating Pride Month - you'll have cookies for everyone! They will all be so impressed with the rainbow of bright colors.

Father's Day Brunch: Cinnamon Buns

Dad will be so grateful to wake up to the smell of warm cinnamon buns coming out of the oven. Bonus: make him a special latte to pair.

Father's Day Dinner: Steak au Poivre

Steak and Dads are just a classic pairing. This French preparation is sophisticated, super delicious, a little fancy but not at all hard to make. Once you have the technique down, you'll be making this recipe for all special occasions.

Father's Day Dessert: Luau Pie

This dessert is perfect for Father's Day - it can be made a bit ahead, so you can enjoy the whole day with her without having to tend to the kitchen. Simply assemble the dessert when you're ready and you're the hero.

Summer Solstice BBQ: Grilled Paella

A grilled paella is a perfect get-together - you can make a couple with different toppings. This is especially great if your friends have different diets! I have a mix of vegetarians and meat lovers in my crew, so I love to make a chorizo, chicken and shrimp grilled paella and a seasonal vegetable paella. Everyone wins!

Summer Solstice Picnic: Fried Chicken Sandwich + Peach Pies

Summer Solstice in the park, with the dogs, kids and friends, the sun is shining and the birds are chirping. Could it get more idyllic? Add on these recipes for a great packable picnic meal.

Summer Solstice Dessert: Strawberries and Cream Napoleons

Take advantage of those incredible farmer's market strawberries while you can! This recipe is light, sweet and super delicious. Highly recommend pairing with your favorite glass of Prosecco for a memorable dessert.

Summer Solstice Happy Hour: Frozen Cocktails

Master frozen cocktails this summer - that's my plan at least! I look forward to blending up some delicious cocktails for the summer holidays and all of the summer Friday's in between.

Let me know what recipes you try this month! Cheers!
